Educators Rising

Educators

The purpose of Educators Rising is to cultivate a new generation of skilled educators by guiding high school students on a path to becoming teachers through hands-on experience, academic competitions, and community projects. The organization's overarching goal is to create a sustainable pipeline of diverse, high-quality teachers who are passionate about serving their communities.

Recruit and prepare future educators:

The program provides high school students with experiences, such as peer tutoring and career shadowing, to help them decide on a teaching career path. It also offers a curriculum to guide students as they develop their teaching skills.

Sustain interest in the profession:

Through competitions, service projects, and events like the National Conference, it fosters a supportive community and keeps students engaged and interested in becoming a teacher.

Foster diversity:

Educators Rising aims to recruit students who reflect the demographics of their communities to change the face of the teaching profession.

Support teacher leaders:

The organization provides resources and support for passionate teachers who serve as "teacher leaders" to mentor and guide students in their chapters.

Promote research and practice:
It also connects with graduate students and researchers, providing opportunities for them to work with the organization and contribute to its mission through research and projects, as well as through publications like Kappan magazine.
