ANR I

Ag & Natural Resources I                                                                         Grade: 9-11             Credits:  2

Agricultural and Natural Resources I is designed to introduce the student to fundamental concepts and principles of the modern agricultural and natural resources industry. Emphasis is placed on career and leadership skills; basic principles of plant, animal, and soil science; and basic mechanical technologies on the ground.  For students to be successful in the ANR program, the following student prerequisites are in place: C or higher in Science (the previous year); C or higher in English (the previous year); C or higher in math (last course taken); instructor approval.  *9th-grade students are accepted on a case-by-case basis with director approval.

ANR II

Ag & Natural Resources II                                                                        Grade: 10-12           Credits:  2

Agricultural and Natural Resources II is designed to continue the exploration of fundamental concepts and principles associated with agriculture and natural resources. Emphasis is placed on the conservation and management of natural resources; agricultural business-management practices; and the environment as it relates to water quality, forestry, and wildlife. Instruction is provided on basic agriculture-construction techniques and agriculture business management and processes. For students to be successful in the program, the following student prerequisites are in place: C or higher in English (the previous year); C or higher in math (last course taken); C or higher in ANR I; minimum passing score or higher on year 1 CPAS; instructor and/or director approval
